Hello, my name is Richard Price.

I am an accomplished, team-focused network engineer with 20+ years of experience leading and contributing to critical IT implementations. This includes 15 years with Panasonic Corporation of North America. And four years with HP [formerly EDS]. I have expertise in campus LAN design and implementation.

I have redesigned campus LANs using Cisco's Enterprise Composit Network Model with an emphasis on scalability, predictability and flexibility. I have incorporated VOIP quality of service and redundant backbones [via HSRP] into these designs.

I have a proven ability to analyze, plan, design and implement LAN/WAN infrastructures. I have been able to modify and improve such infrastructures in place with minimal impact on day to day business operations.

I have a talent for writing standards, procedures and other documentation. I can produce useful network diagrams. And I also have experience as a project leader and a manager.

I am available for short term contracts. But I am not currently interested in a full time position.

I live in Palatine, Illinois. Thus I have an easy commute [via Metra] to the Chicago loop. I am also quite willing to drive to any suburb up to 30 minutes away.
